Pop mogul Pete Waterman OBE has built some of the greatest model railways ever seen including his stunning ‘O’ gauge model of Leamington Spa. And in 2021 he joined forces with Chester Cathedral to take on a brand-new challenge – the construction of a 64ft x 12ft portable ‘OO’ gauge layout to display at the Making Tracks exhibition running in the cathedral throughout the summer. For 2022, Pete and his Railnuts group have set to work on a second and more challenging build to create a new West Coast Main Line theme layout in ‘OO’ gauge for the cathedral’s Making Tracks 2 exhibition.
