About The Author

A native of India, Surekha Vijh continued her education in the United Kingdom, earning a master’s degree in English literature from Cambridge University and then later, in the United States, a master’s in journalism from American University. Her poems reflect her global travels and the diverse cultures she encounters, prompting her poetry to be translated into Dutch, Norwegian, Spanish, German, and Japanese.Surekha is a former writer in residence at Vermont Studio Center and leads poetry workshops and readings at various universities and literary events around the world. A print and broadcast journalist, she resides in Washington, D.C.
